Ex-situ exploration of cemani chicken in Balai Penelitian Ternak (Balitnak), Bogor-West Java

Cemani chicken is the rarest in world and generally Indonesia associated with medication ritual ceremonies. The purpose of research to determine performance cemani chickens that are kept outside their habitat. A total 20 hens litter cages was observed exploration. were given commercial feed drinking water ad libitum. variable hen day production (%), first egg weight (g), quality, growth (g). All data obtained analyzed descriptively. results showed (%) during 6 months increased, from 14.96% at beginning 48.97%. 31.31 ± 1.43 g quality almost same as other local/native eggs. average body DOC 25.13 g/head, 8 weeks 839.94 g/head (♂) 759.98 (♀), 1537.29 1455.18 (♀). obtained, Balitnak production, weight, slightly lower, but for 20-weeks bodyweight, relatively higher.
